Davis/Best Homes

by @ 7:47 pm. Filed under Pike News

Davis Homes is again thinking about building 77 homes at 5201 W 59th street. This in on the south side of the street between Moller and Georgetown, just south of Northwestway Park. They tried last year and Pike Township Residents Association plus City Zoning turned them down. They have to wait a year before they can start the process again. The objections are the density, the price of the homes, the foreclosure rates for new home builders and the location.

Praise Place

by @ 7:29 pm. Filed under Pike News

On April 17th I reported about a new operation called Praise Place. A new kind of Christian night club for the 20 – 35 crowd. Well Folks…It is not going to happen. In an email to Pike Township Residents Association, Steve and Kim Outlaw state:

Hello, Just wanted to give you an update on how things are going with Praise Place. If you haven’t already heard we have decided to terminate our lease at 4202 W. 56Th Street. The owners of the building leased the space next door to a guy putting in a liquor store.

This is a conflict of interest and goes against everything we stand for. There is no way we would operate a Christian Club next to a liquor store. WE were very disappointed in the owners allowing that to take place. They allowed us to get out with any penalties. We would like to thank the PTRA for giving us a chance. The vision is still alive, We are currently in the process of moving it to another location. Every thing happens for a reason. Thanks so much for your support.

Steve & Kim Outlaw
